"Fuel Economy" gauge
Guys, I was just going through some of my stuff and I found that I have a "Fuel Economy" Factory Gauge. Dont recall where I got it but it would definitely go on the left side of the cluster, to the left of the speedo. I have it with the hose still attached. It just says "Fuel Economy" on the bottom and the needle swings from "minimum" to maximum". Anyone ever see on in a car? Any value to it? Anyone need one?

Depends what you want for it I like it better than the Tach actually since I will be getting a stand alone Tach

It's a vacuum gauge, with a face & dial to show that low vacuum means better gas mileage. I've had one of those around forever....

I have one on my 76. I believe it was introduced in 76 during the extra hard crunch of the fuel crisis. It does come in handy when working on your vacuum lines though, finding a leak or such.

Re: "Fuel Economy" gauge
Back in the good old days, early to mid 1950s, I would have my own way of "making" a vaccum guage. I would go over railroad tracks real fast to get rid of that rusty muffler and tailpipe and then I would increase my speed to the posted speed limit and the exhaust would be real loud. I would then slack off the gas feed very slowly until the sound volume dropped drastically and I would still be doing the speed limit but my gas milage would increase commencably. It actually works, but just takes the place of the vaccum guage. JB
