Looky what I picked up !!

Just got back from running down to Maryland from New York to pick up this car. 1973 chevelle, A/C, CRUISE CONTROL (never seen that before). Original Florida car with only one registered owner was found in a 50 state search. Car was abandoned on an auto shop property and the shop liened it and sold it. Been sitting in a back yard ever since. Car is in good condition. Odometer reads 72K. Engine is untouched, cranks but doesnt start. Interior was removed (bench seat) and stored in the basement. Car looks straight and the frame is excellent. Floors have some rot in the usual places water likes to sit. Inside the wiper cowl is like brand new. The kicker is, the dash is perfect. Not a crack in it and no cover on it either. 350, 2 bbl. Tail lights are still nice and shiny, trunk floor is solid with no rust and the tail light panel does not have any rust either. Overall nice shape. Almost a shame I'll be parting it out. Owner did give me an extra steering column with aftermarket wheel, a BLUE center console with shifter from another 73 chevelle. I dont recall ever seeing a blue console in a chevelle but could be. IT ALSO HAS THE STAINLESS 1/4 TRIM IN NICE CONDITION. Drivers door mirror has a remote. All told, $550 car, $120 for the trailer, 2 tanks of diesel and a bunch of tolls. Nothing will be going to waste. I split the costs with a buddy of mine whos redoing his GMC Sprint. I'm basically taking the frame, 1/4's, 1/4 trim of course, whole tail panel with lights, gas tank, bumpers, header, harness and trunk lid. That will round out my 73 inventory in storage. I was looking for a nice frame so I can put mine back to original and take out my galvanized one. And I needed the trunk emblem.

how about selling me all the locks ?? glove,Trunk and doors with Keys and door handles ?

I wouldnt cut up that car,nice clean straight body. Id put it back on the road.Put it back in shape and put it back on the road make few $ flipping it. Why dont you get a frame from that guy right off 6 in Jefferson Valley,Hes got 3 there, one is all apart, that one you have there looks better than the 3 he has.

Basically the whole car is accounted for between myself and my buddy. The car is on long island right now and next weekend I'll be parting it out and bringing the frame home.

Dash is going in my friends Sprint because his is a basket case.

I have to take a better look at the automatic console cause thats something I dont need. I have my factory 4 speed one.

The guy also gave me a pair of supposed Big Block springs for this car. They look good but I dont need them.

Yes, those wide rallies are cool, if there not bad, I'll be keeping them.

Hood is going on the Sprint because his is rotted.

Keeping the quarter trim and leaving the emblems on the fenders.

Ant, I've been talking with the guy on 6 for over a year about getting a frame and some parts. Always a story there. I've had wanted ads on craigslist and HE calls me with the same story that he's parting out and he'll call me. I went down and met him 3 weeks ago and took a look at the cars. He has the motor, trans and nose off one of them. He said he'd call me on the weekend and grab the frame out of it. Still no call. Now get this!!! I'm in Delaware towing this one home and I get a 914 area code call. Guy says, hey you looking for 73 parts, I have a frame. I knew right away it was him. So I told him, its been over a year and a half with phone calls and I just bought a much nicer one than he has. Real nice guy but I dont know what the delay is. I've received 3 calls from him in response to wanted ads I've placed in the last couple months. So I dont know.

Yeah I got ya one of those guys.Those cars have been there for years too. Nothing ever becomes of them. I bet nothing will.

Just FYI I heard the cruise at Chili's down on 6 will be back this year and the one on Fri night in Carmel at shoprite is moving to Saturday night which is great since Marcus dairy is gone.

Cool about the cruises. I didnt know the Chilis cruise was gone last year. Havent been down that way. Funny the guy on 6 called me yesterday and today I get a call from a guy up in Cairo, NY saying he has some parts as well. When it rains it pours.
