1973 Laguna Time Capsule
Not sure this qualifies as a project car but I just bought it so here it is. This car was purchased new in Tennessee and spent its entire life with the same family in the same town until now. This is a very well preserved example of a no frills Laguna. The car was special ordered in its weird color combination and options, it has a 350 2 barrel, 3 speed automatic, AC, the sport wheels, and of course the Laguna package, but it has no other options, not even a clock. The interior is pretty much showroom new, as is the trunk floor and vinyl top and glass, really there is nothing bad to say about this car, it might be one of the finest unrestored examples left on this earth. The car has had zero paint work ever, and still shines about like new. Dont know what to say about it other than I am in love, my woman told me she didnt like the color, I told her she knew where to find a good divorce lawyer, I have enough good sense to know id rather have the Laguna than her. So anyhow my wife is for sale cheap if anyone wants her. Someone else will post some photos of it, I dont know how yet :-)

Re: 1973 Laguna Time Capsule
Ya it has 35,500 original miles, was scared to even trailer it the 500 miles home, didnt want to be the guy to wreck one of the last unmolested ones left :-)
And thanks everyone for the warm welcome! And thanks to Limey for posting the photos for you all.

I hate green, but I wouldn't change a thing about that car, except maybe change it to dual exhaust as long. As I could do it and still be able to change it back to stock later. Great score. Lucky man...

Re: 1973 Laguna Time Capsule
I want to know why that color was so popular in the 70s

Re: 1973 Laguna Time Capsule
I still think that color is popular, just the other day I had a 50 year old woman tell me "nice car", and then I had an 80 year old woman eyeing up the Laguna so intently at a stop light I thought she was about to make an offer on it.....
I did have a group of 4 teenagers give me thumbs up and the peace symbol, but I havent been able to verify if they were making fun of me, or if they really thought the car was cool :-/

Re: 1973 Laguna Time Capsule
Any car that's this original and pristine deserves respect...regardless of color. Color Green was very popular in the late 60's-early 70's. I have a '67 Cougar XR7 (blue) and I swear 70% of them made in '67/'68 were Limefrost Gold (Green). My dad always bought his cars in various shades of green back then.

Re: 1973 Laguna Time Capsule
I lost my job guys, the Super Chevelle may be up for sale soon, im thinking of moving out of this hellhole state, and selling my car would make that happen. Anyhow I am pondering selling it, I have $8000 in it and in reality I want more, but you guys are also lovers of these cars, so I would give you all the family price which is what I have in it. If none of you are interested, I might eBay it, I will keep you updated. I have enough money to be jobless for a little while, but if this stretches on, I have to sell something, unless any of you guys will pay big money for an S10 pickup, then im guessing the poor Laguna will have to go. 36,000 original miles, runs and drives better than new, it has to be about the nicest 73 Chevelle on this earth that is unrestored, I love it more than my woman lol, id sell her if it were legal.....

Re: 1973 Laguna Time Capsule
Sorry to hear about the job, man that sucks! I am in a month to month situation myself or I would love to have her. I bought my first 73 Laguna in 1976 and it had 36,000 miles on it when I got it. It was also green, but it was midnite green with a olive green top.The only problem I would have with yours is no air. I am in Az now, and it hurts with no air in your cruiser! There was another low mile Laguna, same color too, in Tenn/Kentucky CL fairly recently, but i can't find it now. Best of luck to you!

Don't go there. You'll never leave Harlan alive.
