Heater Core
How big of a job is changing the heater core on a 73 Chevelle?

easier with dash and engine out. thats when Chris did mine.

FWIW, I didn't swap the heater core in mine, but I did pull everything apart in order to swap to Vintage Air. The core is accessible from inside the cabin (no need to do anything under the hood except disconnect the lines), but IIRC you will have to pull most of the HVAC stuff under the passenger side of the dash apart to get at it.
