Man my dad did the same thing for me when i was your son's age, and it was THE COOLEST MEMORY of driving that I have to date, just make sure no police ar around when it happens is all. Trust me he will never forget it, I know I NEVER did !!!
Also be happy wants to drive the big monte and not some ricer honda that he can get seriously hurt in.

there was some site see'ers that stopped and asked him if he was old enough.he simply replied "yes".
seriously,he has been driving since he was 12.just in parking lots though.but this was only the second time with the monte.
the first time was very short in an empty lot.
my 11 drove the monte this year, also in the same lot.

Re: am I stupid or to trust worthy?
the first car i remember driving was my dad's 73 Monte Carlo- i was probably 7 years old sitting on his lap steering down gravel roads for miles at a time, with the occasional cruise down a paved road. cops would wave as they passed by.
the second car i remember driving was my dad's '30 Model A 5 window street rod about 2 years after my dad died- i was maybe 11 years old. my grandpa rode along as we drove to the hay field across the road and he taught me the greatest driving trick ever- crank the wheel and stab the gas...

Re: am I stupid or to trust worthy?
Chris, you're definitely one trusting father!
Practice makes perfect, I suppose, and if you teach your son to respect cars under a watchful eye, I think that's the best way to avoid trouble in the future. By the way, your Monte is really quiet. I thought it'd be much louder.

i have shorty headers with 2 1/2 pipes going into flowmaster 50 series and no tails. it does seem louder in person.

Re: am I stupid or to trust worthy?
Hmm it depends on the kid I guess. If hes a good kid that knows what to do behind the wheel then I wouldnt be scared. 454 is alot of motor for a 15 year old tho
