Just wondering how fast is everyone in their car right now and whats the fastest youve gone in the car?

My best is 12.39 @110mph in the 70.
Last night it ran 12.95 @111mph

The 73 Malibu 454 ran 14.70 @88mph but also ran a 15.7 @98 so the power is there just not getting to the ground.

Hope to get the 73 SS 454 to the track this year before they close for the season.

the beast ran a 15.7 this year at the track all motor not bad for the orginal motor with a small aftermarket cam headers and a good carb son well be 454 30 over 9 to 1 motor fresh rebuild 2500 stall and a posi rearend 3.23 gear well see what she well do

My '74 with a factory 350/ 2 barrel combo can do 95 pretty damn comfortably. There aren't any spots in central Indiana I can wind it out on Evil or Very Mad

As for the 1/4 mile, I haven't had a chance to run it yet, but anything in the 18's absolutely wouldn't surprise me at this point. Let's hear it for 180 hp! Embarassed

12.350 @ 117.14 MPH

This was before installing the ProCharger. I hope to be in the mid 11's if I ever get my @$$ back out there.

The 76 will run about 85-90 downhill. Let's hear it for 145 hp. Woot woot!

heh 145hp, you guys got it easy, I got the monster 307 with the amazing 115hp. Id be lucky if it did 70mph downhill with a tail wind. so Id guess itd run somewhere in the 20's

with a 468 and glide...has gone 10.53 @ 128 mph... at 3850lbs. trust me, it takes a good amount of hp to get a heavy car to run this fast. when it ran low 12's it was actually still fun to drive around. now it goes fast, but is less fun

with a 383 at 6000ft elevation it ran 11.80 gutted with slicks. havent ran it in the latest form.... yet affraid

i feel your pain with the 307, the 70 malibus got one...its a heart racing experience just trying to merge onto the freeway without getting killed...no worries though, its getting a fresh 350 and a new rear end soon.

I think the Blue Beauty ran high 15s with a stock 77 Camaro 350 on the original transmission (which used to be bolted to a inline 6!). I rebuilt and tuned the Q-Jet this past summer. I get to rebuild/replace the tranny this summer and rebuild the engine. After my wedding I get budget/allowance for El Camino purposes. I'm really excited.
