new proportion valve
I will move that valve from the body under the master cylinder.
do you have experience with those on ebay, for example:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/184263059064
it seems almost all of these valves are made in china, regardless of the price?

Hi
Hi Finn,
Very impressed with your work. I got my proportioning valve from Inline Tube aka motorcitymusclecar. Not a fan of aluminum anything quite frankly but that's just me. My car is a working girl daily driver and I have to push her to accept a bit of chrome or painted valve covers here and there in the forest of cast iron and copper brass haha.

Re: new proportion valve
I went with Inline Tube's PR102, but a quick check of their website shows they are out of stock. Pay attention to the warning light switch connection as the one you picked out will not fit your factory wire connection. And, if I recall correctly, your factory switch will not thread into these, either...so, it's not so easy as to just swap switches. Also, do yourself a favor and buy one of those bleeder plug tools that you swap in place of the switch while bleeding the brakes. It will keep the inner piston centered without fussing with having to center it after bleeding.

Re: new proportion valve
MCarlo is right that most of the Inline Tube proportioning valves are sold out! They do list a chrome version PR120 as in stock but it is $30 more expensive than the stock units. Don't know its exact fitment but it did come up as 1976 Malibu compatible.

Re: new proportion valve
That thing gave me fits when my original tripped. Could not get rear to bleed even with the tool holding shuttle in place. I don't know why. Even the shop I took it too had problems bleeding. I think junk was caught in the line and going back and forth while bleeding. Maybe rebuild the original. There is a place online that sells kits to rebuild it. https://www.musclecarresearch.com/bendix-0411-kit

I've never seen a tool like that, I've installed a couple of those valves without problems.

the original is badly corroded so I don't use it.
