I gotta share this!

I'm wired up, my adrenalin level is thru the roof. At 3:30 this morning my doorbell rang. I live in a semi bad neighborhood. There were two guys on my porch that were wearing light parkas. They were about 21 years old. I would not open my security storm door, but asked them what they wanted thru the door. They said their car broke down and they wanted to come in and use my phone. I told them I would call whoever they wanted to call and tell them to come pick them up. about that time my 6 foot one ex prizefighter son in law got home from work and walked up behind them and their eyes got real big around and they said thank you and took off. My son in law said one of them was playing with a two foot long piece of rope and the other one had his hands in his pocket. It'll be daylight before I will be able to get back to sleep. JB

JB, buy a german shepherd or a rotti...i got one of each and no once messes with me (also maybe because im 6'5 235) but also no one messes with my girlfriend when she has one with her on the least. also, i dont think there is a more intimidating sound to a would be burglar than the tone of one of those dogs barking..dobes are nice too, my girlfriend grandparents have one.

I canceled my cell phone. I could not see paying $20 a month just to make 1 or 2 or 3 calls a month. Thats about $8 for each call I would make. JB

if you have AARP you can get the free phone from the government it gives you 300 free minutes a month no cost to you............And I for one feel that you have paid enough in to be able to get it

I heard about that, but was told you have to be on some kind of Medicaid or something and even tho I MIGHT qualify for that I would have to jump thru so many hoops to get it that it would not be worth the effort. One time I bought a single shot shotgun at a pawn shop and I cut off the barrel to where it is one inch over the government limitations and I usually keep it handy. Last night I knew it was time for my son in law to come home and did not take it to the door. I figured he had forgot his key. Yeah, that was pretty careless of me, but.. Hey..I'm getting old! LOL. I have an old 20 gauge shot gun in the house, with buckshot. Luckily, I'm about 4 miles from the city, and surrounded by farm land. No place for them to hide if it gets to that.

I wouldnt answer the door without some heat at 3 am.And there is no problem here like that but its odd to hear the bell at that time. Glad you are ok.
