Speedometer.
Loud speedometer. Took it apart and greased the cable. Still squeals. Not as bad, but it does.
What now?

Re: Speedometer.
Replace it with one that doesn't! Rock Auto has them for about 10 bucks, according to their website.

Re: Speedometer.
Is there a way to lubricate the speedometer itself, where the cable goes in?

Some times the little bearing ( bronze bushing) where the cable goes into the back of the speedo, gets dry and makes noise. A drop of oil usually cures it.

Re: Speedometer.
Did some trouble shooting today - it's NOT the speedometer - it's all the cable. Drove it up the road w/o the cluster, and it was just as loud as with. Heavily greased the cable again, and it still squeals. There's an abrupt turn in the cable as it enters the fire wall, so maybe there's a kink in it causing the squeal.
I'm sickntard of messing around with it. I put it all back together today, and I'll just deal with it.

Re: Speedometer.
It might be the seal on the speedo gear itself.
I thought mine was a goner till I oiled the head and replaced the speedo gear bullet, it became smooth and quiet after that. Course its also ate 2 speedo cables for no reason.
