My dash bothered me every time I looked at it so I went to Ben Franklin's (arts and crafts store) and bought a silver paint pen. It's not chrome like original but it looks way better than it did. Also painted the front grille black and striped the outer lip silver. Let me know what you guys think.Dash chrome pinstriping Dash1_10Dash chrome pinstriping Dash_110Dash chrome pinstriping Dash_210Dash chrome pinstriping Dash_211Dash chrome pinstriping 2011-010Dash chrome pinstriping 2011-011

Looks good, man! This is really the only option to detailing the edging without spending some signicant cash to send them out to be rechromed via vacuum metallizing.

Yah. I found out there is chrome fingernail polish after I did it. You apply it in 3 separate coats. Too tedious fer me though...

I did the same thing with mine, silver sharpie. It can rub off easily but what's the big deal on reapplying it every so often?

x2

If you don't touch it, it won't rub off. I did mine once...I just don't touch it. No need to.

Can the sharpie be clear coated? Think I'm going to try that eventually but both bezels I have are off so it'll be harder to do on the dash.

Did you use the oil based or water based silver sharpie?
