new electric pump Empty new electric pump

The new electric fuel pump, which is a warranty unit from Summit ( a great place to do business) arrived last evening, and I bolted in in today. The first one would not run at all.
It's mounted in the cavity under the front of the bed in my Elco project. I have an access panel in the bed cover, so I don't have to remove the big panel to get to the pump, relay, & wiring.

The relay and wiring. the large clear plastic hose is for the bed drain.

That is very nice packaging.
Can you give us an overview of the fuel system?
I thought you were running a carb?
Was it a TBI?

Thanks -

Hi Jerry
I'm running the 800 CFM Caddy carb, a Q-jet. With some mods on the engine and carb. I don't want the pressure to drop off on a hard pull, so I always add an electric pump to the system, which is an in-line type, that will allow the engine pump to pull through it, without it running.
I have a switch to run it when I want, and it wont run at all without oil pressure, for safety reasons.
