my mothers one owner '76 camaro
heres a pic of my moms '76 Camaro that my dad purchased new. they special ordered it with the "new" 305 v8 with air conditioning. other than that is is a plain as they came, column shift, hub caps, no spoilers (my brother and I corrected the last two) it also didn't come with a center counsole or a radio. If they had known that they would still have it 37 years later I am sure the would have ordered it a little differently.

That looks really nice! Has it had any resto work? Or is that original except for those wheels and spoiler?

it has always looked nice but it did rot out even though it was always stored winters (damn ne Ohio climate). It had the rf fender and door replaced, and both 1/4 panels had patch panels welded in. It was repainted in the original color (firethorne red) in a modern base coat clear coat system by excaliber auto body about 10 years ago. The interior has had the seat covers replaced, a new headliner, and a new package tray installed. The rest is original. Up until last year it still had the oe catatytic converter on it...I had a local shop make me a "test pipe" on a cash no paperwork type deal.JiMi_DRiX wrote:That looks really nice! I wish we had at least one of the family cars from when I was a kid. Hold on to that car.

That is quite a bit of work but its very cool that they took care of it and still have the car all these years! My dads black 73 came from Ohio, and there are small spots where you can tell the Ohio climate wasnt very nice to the car, and its in odd spots that I'm not use to looking either!

Yeah '70's gm cars were pretty much scrap around here by the early '90's. I remember tons of '77 cutlass' and regals running around with a 2 by 6 for a rear bumper because the OE one fell off..(For some reason chevys never seemed to have that problem).

Wow, that brings back memories. We used to joke about joining the "Bumperless Cutlass Club". The really fancy repair jobs had a pressure-treated 2x6 with stainless fasteners!
