Dumb factory tach question.
I just picked up factory gauges with tach. Not sure if/when I'll install yet.
I currently have the base sweep gauges. What do I have to do hook up the tach?

There's a thread that talks about this whole process and what's involved in rewiring your dash harness. I did this in my car as well. The thread has pictures of how the wiring needs to be. "SWITCHING FROM SWEEP TO ROUND GAUGE CLUSTER RE-WIRE".

Re: Dumb factory tach question.
I've got this one, and a later one with the "fuel economy" gauge in place of the tach. So if anything ain't working I can probably swap 'em out.
But this one is in pretty good shape and the owner said it was in storage wrapped in plastic for twenty years.
We'll see...

Re: Dumb factory tach question.
I did this too and it wasn't too terribly difficult. You will need to run a signal wire from the tach to the correct pin in the cluster plug. You could probably run the signal wire directly to the post on the back of the tach too.
