Do I need a new water pump?
Yesterday all my new engine components showed up, Brodix 180cc heads, eagle rotating assembly, comp cam, etc, my plan is to get the radiator boiled out and and thy good stuff, but what about the water pump. Do I need a new one with the new engine, so far it hasn't given me any problem and I've driven the car in 100 degree weather.

Personally I wouldn't go with either one sir. I'm sure your radiator boiling might be cheap, but you'll still have an old one. I got my aluminum radiator for right at $200 and it was a direct fit.
As for the water pump, for the $30 or so it costs for a new one, it's a lot easier to put one on when the engine's out of the car than in it.
Good luck!

Re: Do I need a new water pump?
The issue I ran into with a new water pump is the bosses for the accessory brackets were too far forward, causing a pulley misalignment for the power steering pump and alternator. Just something to check if you go with a new one.

Radiator & water pump...when in doubt, tosse'm out !!
New engine, with old pump ? not a great idea. You need to take the old pump along, when getting a new one. Some heater water outlets etc are different on some years etc... My last one was a NEW one, after rebuilt types didn't last very long...
Good advice on getting an aluminum radiator. Good cooling, and much lighter weight...

If it's working go with it. Unless you spend a lot of money for aftermarket, the parts store stuff isn't that great. You can put a new pump on and it leaks.

I think I paid $28 for a new one at Napa. Cheap insurance in my book.
