Re: Bought a truck
Here's some of those stock 4x4 wheels for $100.

This guy also has a set for $75. Looks like he might have your oil pan for $20, but it doesn't say which motor. Give him a ring & find out.

Re: Bought a truck
I almost bought a white one about a year ago. 4.3 s10's are great, if you have ever driven a sorry A$$ 2.8 truck, you will think the 4.3 is a v8..lol My old 4.3 tbi blazer with a dynomax catback.

Re: Bought a truck
Had an 83 with a carbed 2.8, auto & 3.73 gears, Horribly slow. Never own another one I hated it so much.
A 95 with a 2.2, stick, 4.10 gears.... peppy for a 4 cylinder, still slow though. Twice as fast as the 83.
A 93 with the CPI, auto, 3.42 gears.... Lots of usable power.
& now an 88 with a 2.8 TBI, auto, 3.08 gears.... surprisingly not as bad as I thought it would be, but still slow until you hit highway speeds.

Re: Bought a truck
Engine is at the machine shop geting vatted, honed, cam bearings, freeze plugs, and balance shaft bearings. Heads are getting checked as well as the rods. Might do a valve job havent decided yet.
Gonna be fresh motor when I get done, new bearings, rings, oil pump...

Re: Bought a truck
It should last you a long time with all of that refreshing. Longer than the Screamin' GEO for sure.
Might as well at least pocket port those heads while you got it tore apart though.

Re: Bought a truck
heres some pics of the engine in it
Changing the fuel pump for good measure, ended up all the rubber had turned to gummy sticky stuff. The Baja has a solid steel skidplate around the tank, it was much easier to remove the bed.
Got a roll pan for it, have some plans for a rear bumper.

S10's and S10 Blazers are everywhere in Indiana. It's pretty funny getting looks because I have a Blazer that doesn't have any rust holes in it.
