Hello from Wisconsin 73 ss 454
Hello everyone, my name is Matt, I'm 18 and I'm from southeast Wisconsin. My dad and I purchased a 73 Chevelle ss about a year and a half ago and have been working on it ever since. The car is a factory SS with a factory 454 and Auto trans. Has electric bench seats as well. So far we have redone front suspension, brakes, rebuilt motor, rebuilt trans, rebuilt rear end, redone interior, fixed radiator core support from rust hole (couldnt find a different one), Fixed front end damage, fuel pump, SS 396 wheels, tires. Needs body work on the fender and new paint. Only major part in need of replacing is the roof, well just above the windshield and we have a full different roof. I'm sure I am forgetting something, but that is the most of it. All the work was done by my dad and I along with the help on the transmission and rear end from a friend. I'll hopefully be checking around here more often and will appreciate any help needed. Thanks for lookin!
Detailed car specs as follows:
454, 030 over
kb small domes, should be around 10:1 cr
rpm airgap
781 heads, bigger valves, port/polish
comp cams xtreme energy

286/236 @ .050
750 holley dp
3.73 gears
27" tire 275/60/15 (Nitto 555r..Great tire for street/track little loud on road)
TH400 with 2200 stall.
Stock exhaust with stock manifolds (very temporary) Have hooker long tubes waiting in the trunk for spring.
Tried posting photobucket slideshow of the car so far, but have to wait 7 days. If you are interested pm me and I can send you the link

Hahaha. I love all the people here, but I've noticed over the years that the guys my age are usually intonewer stufff. At least that's how I remember it when I was 18/19. I'm 27 now and it still seems that way lol

Nice SS! That motor should rip pretty good in that! Almost the same set up I had in my 47 Chevy 1/2 ton pick up before I swapped the 5.3 in. It ran 7.80's in the 1/8th and 7.04 on a 150 shot before they kicked me out for no cage, lol.
