since we are down in admins what if we went to ride of the month instead of week?
not only will it make it easier on dan but we could possibly put up submissions and members vote. we could have themed monthes ect.

Once a month would work. Doesn't need to be weekly.
Maybe have a month for certain makes/models?

Does it take much time in administration to post once a week, "ride of the week" pictures?
If it is time-consuming, then I would agree with the once a month. If it is not, then personally, I enjoy seeing as many of the cars as a can.
As far as voting, that's great for the winner ... but the ones that don't win, are they upset that they didn't win? I would rather just randomly post, nominate youself, have a fellow member nominate like they do now.
Again, seeing as many cars, as possible, as long as it doesn't take a bunch of work to pull it off.

Not trying to argue the the point w/ anyone but there is nothing stopping members from posting nice car pics anytime they'd like.
Just saying it doesn't have to be on the main forum page as ROTW, anyone can make a thread called "G3 Cutlass pics" or what have you, as a thread if they want.

Maybe we can have a ride of the week where general pics are posted and in another thread have a "ride of the month" where the members vote on other members car and the winners could become part of a G3GM.com calender. We used to do this on the Lincoln forum I belong to but now you submit a photo and members vote and the highest will get into the calender. Its pretty cool especially since you "know" the cars, its not a generic calendar from the store.

I do like the calender idea ... are you talking about a "print-your-own" calender, or one that is professionally printed? If professionally printed, we would just have to figure a way to fund it. Typically with printing, things have to be paid for "up-front.
And on the other thing mentioned, it makes no difference to me, whether we do Ride of the Week, or Ride of the Month.

I like the idea of members voting each month and using them as a calendar!
If the number of submissions are low for the rotw, I have a ton of cool random g3 pics as I am sure most others do, I just didn't know about nominating them since I did not know the owner personally. So I guess I am asking if we can submit these random ones?

Why not? The Grand-AM race car I nominated a while back was just a random find from an article on a Pontiac site. I think many ROTW's from the past were just random as well.

i have no issues with random or members cars since we are a special group of nuts and in general the car comunity just hasnt caught on to just how cool these cars are
