Power Brake Booster
We have in our 73 El Camino, the original power brake booster. As you all know, it is huge; 10.75".
Is there a direct replacement with a smaller diameter diaphragm?
We really don't need the room, but since we will be replacing it soon, figured might as well replace it with a smaller one if possible.

Re: Power Brake Booster
I've been wanting to try putting a later plastic and aluminum master on mine. I've determined that a '80 elcamino will bolt in place, and the lines are the same. As for weather it will bolt on, bleed out, and work I don't know.

Re: Power Brake Booster
So the bolt pattern to the firewall is the same? That's good. What about the pushrod style and length?

Re: Power Brake Booster
It will bolt up and the lines will screw in that's what I know. On Napa prolink it gives vague specs (threads for the lines, bolt pattern) but its intended for stock replacement, not cross referencing for custom applications.

Re: Power Brake Booster
Make sure you guys are discussing the same thing. To me it sounds like one is talking booster and the other is talking master cylinder.

I think we are understanding each other. (Idk about the booster question, mine has manual brakes) just saying my thoughts.
