Brake booster question.
I just received a new crate engine for my 77 Monte. I forget where the brake booster hose goes. Intake or carburetor? Thanks, Jamie

Re: Brake booster question.
It can go to either. It just has to be full vacuum , not ported. Full vacuum would be.from any port on the carb base plate or below. So any manifold port would also be full vacuum.

Re: Brake booster question.
As was said, you want a large volume constant port such as the manifold or carb baseplate. But DO NOT connect it to anything else. You can use the carb baseplate and go direct to the booster and leave the intake for other things. You do not want to "T" off the booster vacuum port say and go to the trans modulator. Because if the modulator fails you may have a huge vacuum leak on that line and have brake issues. Leave the brakes separate.

To add to that, if the modulator fails you will ingest trans fluid into the engine, causing it to billow great clouds of white smoke out the tailpipe.
