I was very excited when I happened upon this forum. Gen 3 A bodies don't seem to get the love they deserve. While horsepower from the factory may have been down, ride and handling and in many instances, styling, improved.
I have a 1973 Monte Carlo, my second, I refer to as the Great White Shark. I had my first in high school- a white 73 Monte with a 350, 4 barrel, full dual exhaust, blue bench cloth interior and a power sunroof. Picked her up in 1984 from a little old lady for $500 with only 75,000 miles. I loved that car and made her pretty fast for the day.
My current version is a 1973, white, black swivel seat interior with no console (yet) AC and power windows. HAd a crate motor 350 and rebuilt trans when I got her in 2012 in Phoenix AZ.
I put belltech springs and shocks (2 inches lower), spohn rear lower control arms, new bushings everywhere and rebuilt the front end (all this in a garage or the driveway). I recently put in a quick ratio steering box, new PS pump with braided lines.

She rolls on 17x8 and 17x9 US Mags Bandit Wheels, which look amazingly like Pontiac Rallye wheels ( I'm totally fine with that...the transformation in her looks is amazing). This car HANDLES!  Only about 300hp currently, but that will be remedied eventually. I am open to input on anti sway bar and front control arm upgrade feedback. If you've done this, please share your opinions. A posi rear with better gears and disc brakes is in the near future.

So, here she is...as I got her and what she is today.

Welcome aboard I really Like what you have don't to your Monte Carlo looks really nice, And for Big Rear Sway bars and boxed rear control arm get with Brownbomber here he has some for sale and will greatly improve the ride, As for the front one I am unsure what bolts to the front for the sway bar ( due to the added steering stabilizer shock )

That car is absolutely beautiful... Love the whole look. Wheels, stance, tint, everything... One of my favorite Monte's. If you ever need a rendering of that car, let me know. I would love to do it for you.

Put 245/45/17 front, 275/40/17 rear. Could have gone wider I believe, in wheel and tire on the rear.

allow myself to introduce...myself Empty 1975 Chevelle/Malibu

Post by Doc75 Sun Jun 11, 2023 8:31 am

Hi, fairly new to this forum...I'm ol school...IT not my strong suit..but finding " like minded" interest in these cars is key..I've owned my 1975 Chevelle/Malibu 2 Dr Colonnade coupe for over 14 years..and now doing a total refurbishment...Faded paint, faded carpet, deteriorated interior, stuck seat belt retractor (drivers side) and faulty gas tank..Car is faded medium metallic green..Previous owner had repainted..Original was a seafoam green..Green "barebones" base door panels with Mylar and Malibu emblems..No pleats or buttons..Only SMS being able to replicate. (due to water damage)..I now have and getting ready to install..Tinted windshield and tinted back window..and tint side windows ( in order to save interior from "baking" again) but have also acquired all of the A/C brackets for the inline 250 (6) with integrated head "scrounged" from a '75 Camaro inline 250 (6)...New gas tank to be installed soon..Was driving this car until 2019..when gas tank gave me issues..when I was doing an engine transplant in my '62 Studebaker Lark...( from 170 OHV 6 with cracked block to Stude 259 V8 )..But now anxious to get this '75 back on the road...I remember " back in the day" when A.C.E.S. was around as well as "Tamraz" Chevelle parts, The Paddock Chevelle parts..but long gone..No clubs anymore..and the A- body cars harder to find...Hope to build this car '70s traditional style with dressing up the six..

Back in the mid 1980's, helped a dear friend with a 1967 plain jane straight-six Camaro install a 4-bbl Offenhauser manifold and legit twin exhaust headers. It was a very different car after that; quick and nimble.

Keep us updated on your progress.
