Impala fuel tank
Ok so I got the tank in bolted the straps in the front broke the spot welds on the rear and slid them into the factory mounts but the Impala tank straps are loose is there supposed to be a bushing between the straps and the tank and what do I need to use to bolt the cross over bracket to the passenger side

Re: Impala fuel tank
I'm sure if Wally see this he'll chime in on it. I believe he has an Impala tank in his car.

Re: Impala fuel tank
He does, and I don't remember there being any bushing or anything between the straps and the tank because it's plastic. I thought the straps were all one piece, as in they're riveted together...am I wrong? I remember removing the whole thing as one piece and it folding together, it was really awkward.

Re: Impala fuel tank
I believe there are 2 different style of straps for our A-Bodys. Below is a link to this topic discussed in the past.

Re: Impala fuel tank
I assume the IMPALA tank we are speaking of is from the 94-96 year models ?
If SO , you can use the Impala straps. Yes there will be a space , but I placed styrofoam spacers on top of the tank to fill the space to crush between the tank and
trunk floor.
