Plastic adhesive

Post by HDHugger on Sat Sep 11, 2010 8:37 pm

The skirts for my swivel bucket mounts are cracked. Does anyone know the best adhesive to use to repair them? There are also some pieces broken off, but I have the pieces and need to glue them back on.

put 2 skim coat's of fiberglass on them, finish the glass in, then paint your choice of color

JB Weld. Sand down the high spots. Paint.

I thnk I'll try finding someone with a plastic welder first, then if that doesnt pan out, I will try the JB Weld cuz I have some here, but the fiberglass sounds like too much work. Thanks to all 3 of your for your suggestions. BTW Testors glue didnt work at all !!

Now I gotta go laugh at my son for a while cuz he is getting mad that he can't find any 75 Chevelle model kits on the internet for me. He's been swearing for about 30 minutes now.

If the plastic is dry rotted, all the glue in the world will not hold it together. I do not know if replacements are made or not. JB
