Is that a factory option or what did it come from? Looks like it could be a cool place for maps, CDs, or I guess a trash can if you make it removable, lol.

it is removable,and it was an option on 76 and 77 chevys (this came from a monte).

Ah, but you could get it on earlier ones too. Looked in my 1974 MC GM Restoration Packet, and its in the list of extra cost equipment. Checked off as an accessory(ACC). "Container, Litter". I have seen it on earlier ones as well, that's why I checked the book.
