cool bit of history of my car (certified mileage)
this is sort of neat and i had no idea pontiac did this but when my car rolled over 100,000 miles Pontiac certified the mileage and put a tiny plaque under the speedo saying it's certified 100,000

Heh ... that is cool. I'd never heard of a manufacturer doing that before....

The only auto manufacturer that went out of their way to acknowledge this was Mercedes Benz and maybe Volvo. Most American car companies would prefer that you simply trade your old car in and get another car from them. Do you remember the phrase from back then, "start looking at 55K and then trade in at 60K". Pontiac was always very forward thinking about recognizing auto trends like that. Nice addition!
