my 74 Monte Carlo soft dash to pretty rough.  On ebay there is a company offering a dashcap to fit over existing dash.  Has anybody had any experience putting a dashcap over the existing soft dash?

I have picked up 2 different dash caps over the years
neither one fit around the center twin dash vents, they were 1/4" too big around them.
I know some of the members have had good luck installing them .
One I have doesn't look like it's ever been on a car, it's in good shape.hamging in my garage if you wanted to try one cheep.

^If no one else is takes it, I might take you up on that. I'm not sure when my next trip to WI will be but would let you know. It would be a nice reason to get away from the in-laws for a while lol.
