exhaust expense
Damn this gets expensive. scored a great set of coated headman long tube headers for $30. I still have gaskets from a past project still in the plastic. Local guy wants $500 for a true dual system that has both dumps on passenger side AKA NASCAR style.
So, today went to try and find some header mufflers... $80 each for purple hornies, $45 each for cherry bombs with no turn outs. exhaust is going to cost more than the 400 engine did...lol
I did score a Edelbrock performer and a weiand stealth for $50 each at the same bunch of yard sales that had the headers...

Bought the headers on the 73 for $75, Bought the mufflers for $100 (big block flows) and it was $100 bucks to the rear axle with turn downs at the muffler shop, 3" tubing btw
Oh and 3-1/2" to 3" collectors/reducers were $50 bucks

Re: exhaust expense
sounds about right...costed me 600 bucks for dual flowmasters, 2 1/2 inch pipes, and chrome tips out the back.
