Laguna S3 build numbers question
I am trying to find accurate build numbers for the 1975 S3 and I was hoping someone can point me in the right direction. A web search shows anywhere from 7778-7788 total and 1018-1074 of those numbers being Oshawa cars. The reason I am asking for help is that the story board that came with my car (prob made in 1991 pre internet days when car was restored) states 1017 Canada, 1076 USA for a total of 2093, I assume this is probably incorrect and would like to know as I'd like to make a new accurate story board for display.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Dave

Re: Laguna S3 build numbers question
I've always understood the total production number to be 7788 (6714 U.S. and 1074 Canada). These are the numbers used by the Laguna Registry. U.S. production number is also confirmed by Std Catalog of American Cars...whom, according to their catalog Introduction, pride themselves on having done painstakingly historical research backed by authoritative fact checkers before publishing any information within it's covers. Unfortunately, neither makes reference as to exactly where they obtained their information.

On a side note, I find it even more interesting that, if memory serves, there were only around 410 '75 Lagunas still registered on the road as of 2003 according to findings by a marketing research company. Perhaps Limey can recall this information and confirm? It was in a thread maybe 1 1/2-2 yrs ago from a guy who presented the paperwork when selling or buying a car, I believe.

Re: Laguna S3 build numbers question
Hemmings says there were only 7100 total.
Doc and Spiral say 7788. I don't think anybody knows for sure, but I'd go with this because they did tons of research on 73-77 Chevelles

I know that 75 was the lowest production year.
