Hello from England
Hi people...
Mark here from southend on sea England, I'm the owner of a sweet 30k mile 76 Laguna.
the 400ci motor is tastefully upgraded but tries to look stock, it drives very well and has gone high 13 s at santa pod (our best known drag strip)

Re: Hello from England
Welcome! Beautiful car. So well preserved. And high 13's? You're movin'. That is just motor? Or did you go to a numerically higher rear gear ratio to get off the line quicker? Either way, kudos!

Re: Hello from England
many thanks for your comments guys.. well I bought it from a guy that had owned it for ten years since he imported it through duffys classic cars, he's the guy that did the engine, he told me he used gm performance vortec 11 heads, holley 700dp carb, comp xe cam, rpm intake manifold. it has ceramic headers pypes xpipe with side exits and flowmaster stainless exhaust. the 350 box has a shift kit and the rear end is 10 bolt 2.73 ..I'm happy with the gears as its plenty fast enough and I get great low rpm cruising, and very good mpg when I'm not making trouble.. yes I was on the wrong side of the road for the pics ..how about up on the pavement in front of southends famous victorian pleasure pier.

Hey sharp car!! I saw a few American cars when I was there last. A cool 74 Trans am when I came up out of the Westminster tube stop. My cousins there tell me they always see them near the Halfords on Saturday mornings.

Re: Hello from England
Welcome here Mark. You have a very nice looking Laguna. It's nice to see our cars and others being enjoyed over seas.
As for your question about your v.i.n., I'm sure someone will chime in on it and help you out. There are a lot of great folks here.

Post a picture of the cowl tag, which should be underneath the very rear of the hood (bonnet) on the Yankee passenger side (bloke's driver side)

Re: Hello from England
Do you still have the decal on the drivers door? That would give you the month and year that it was built.

Fill us in as you go...I'd love to see the build sheet if you find one.
Any luck with the build plant info?
I'm curious.

Re: Hello from England
Build plant would be Baltimore (B).
So, we know Fremont plant usually put their Build Sheets on top of the gas tank (where I found mine on the '75 Laguna). And Doraville under the front seat? My '77 Monte built at Leeds plant (K.C.) was attached to inside of fenders (yep...2 of them). Anyone else find theirs?

Re: Hello from England
That's interesting.
I would have bet that an export (if new) to England came from Oshawa.

Re: Hello from England
well guys my laguna was in the states until 2006 and yes the vin makes me think Baltimore md (b)...so where did they normally hide the build sheets?
a few years back I owned a 65 belair and I found the build sheet in the rear seat tucked in the spring, lol I lost the trunk key and had to remove the seat to crawl through to get it open..

Re: Hello from England
Being fairly lazy, I'd check the easy place first. Under the seat.
