Does anyone know where the heat sink for the stereo option is mounted and how's it mounted behind the dash of a 76 chevelle?

It mounts behind and upwards of the glove box liner/insert.  Held in place by one (sometimes two) sheet metal screw...but, can't recall exactly what it was attached to.

as I recall , mounting points are molded into the back of the dash in that area.

That was my understanding. Does anyone have the bracket that holds the heat sink to the dash above glove box? Mount is there beside defog relay/timer....

I believe it attach's with Clips BUT dont know the style

Hi Limey

Thats where the rear defog timer relay mounts with a sheet metal plate that the relay is attached to and than the dash as you point out. Beyondd that is another mounting point where I believe the radio sink/amplifier mounts. I need the sheet metal piece that the sink mounts to,,,
