1975 Buick Century restoration - Las Vegas.
Hey! I am Jordan, I am 21 and just moved from Oklahoma back to my birth state of Nevada. On the way in arizona my 1978 el camino got totalled by a semi truck so I had to find another car, and I like old cars because I can work on them. so I found this sweet buick, And I plan on putting a nice v8 sbc in it in the future with a good rear end and transmission. Until I get back on my feet I am just fixing small stuff, and today was my first replacement piece thanks to @mcarlo77 I was able to fix my broken headlight piece.
Heres my poor el camino, I was about 6k into it and a semi truck hit me and all my whoa nelly. Glad to be alive, first car crash while moving by myself across the country, pretty scary.

Buick looks solid as can be. Put some cragars on it . Too bad about the Elco.

Buick looks great with the replacement headlight housing, Jordan! Glad I could help you out.
Sorry to see your Elkie so mangled. Had to be a harrowing experience. Hopefully, your insurance will pay out nicely and you can put that money into the Buick.

Busy few days. The harmonic balancer went on the buick, I knew it was loose but didnt realize it could break like that. While figuring out what to do with my el camino and how to repair the buick, I have now dropped the buick off at the mechanic that has been holding onto the wrecked elco. I was going to take it from them, but now I am having them remove the engine/transmission/rear end from the el camino and putting it into the buick. Price isn't too bad, and I can wire it and plumb it myself. Thinking of doing straight duals out the sides, since the exhausts wont line up. Ill know more once they jack them both up and verify that they can fit it.
I find it unbelieveable that the 231 v6 only produced a measely 100 something horsepower. I cannot wait to get my V8 back.
This is the v8 in the elco the day before I set off for my trip. It was untouched in the wreck from what I can tell.

Well, the 350 in my 75 Malibu puts out a healthy 145hp. Well, it did when it was new. But it still goes down the road well and got 17.4 mpg on the interstate coming back from cruisin the coast.

From what I read and understand, the 1975 engines were made while GM was really crunching down on the oil crisis and therefore due to the changes they made the HP is terrible.

Swapped the wheels/tires over from my wrecked el camino, and damn do they look good! The tire information that was in the buick glovebox was purchased in 1995, which might mean the whitewalls were 22 years old

Lookin' good! Nice that you're able to utilize some of the parts from the elkie.

Yes very nice, considering the over all circumstances. I am about to head back to the storage and see if the alternator will fit, I want to see if the bench seat is the same size but I have to go buy a crowbar to get the doors open lol.

Alternator should fit. Same one was used for many years, engines, GM models back then. Just pulled one off a '78 Olds Delta 88 w/403 engine at the junk yard that fits the '75 Laguna's 350.

Yeah they look the exact same. Im beat after swapping the wheels on both cars, and the fact it gets dark at 5pm here kinda blows. Ill do the alternator tomorrow

I had a 73 regal 455.
That thing ran like a scalded dog and would roast the tires.
I highly recommend it for cheap therapy!!!!
