Caprice is back as the fuzz
GM announced that the chevy caprice will be back in 2011 as a police package and available to law enforcement agencies only.RWD, 6.0 liter V8-0-60 mph in less than five seconds.
This is according to the HOT ROD mag web-site. It did not list top speed. Says it is NOT based on a vehicle that is available to the public. (Euro?)
My guess is that sooner, rather than later, it will be available to the public. First RWD V8 car from Chevy since?
The Impala SS was FWD right?

Re: Caprice is back as the fuzz
All of Chevy's fullsize cars for the past couple decades or so have all been FWD. It's interesting to see that they're gonna do an offer like this considering the Gov. owns the majority of the company and has a "Save the world!" ideology. If it's true, here's to hoping they'll start offering cars like that to the public. I think in the past few years with cars like the G8 and the new Camaro GM has proven that it's possible to have a fun, efficient RWD car again. I'd be more impressed if they brought back the Chevelle nameplate though!

It is most likely the G8 rebadged as a chevy

From what I hear that is true, but it has a longer wheelbase than the G8. JBbigredlaguna wrote:It is most likely the G8 rebadged as a chevy

Re: Caprice is back as the fuzz
If this happens and any of our local law enforcement get them, then I'm gonna do the insider trading thing and find out when the captains car is up for auction. It would probably be the last car I ever buy.
Knowing how things are changing in this nation, with environmentalists and progressive government, it would probably be illegal for anyone but the gov to own a V-8 by the time they would potentially hit the auction yards.
