'76 Laguna S3 - adding to my garage?
I have been looking for a '75 or '76 Laguna S3 for a while now, found a '76 locally, been talking with the owner, looks like we are going to finalize a deal this week.
It's a project, but seems pretty solid. Original drive train comes with it 350 2V, Turbo 350, engine needs work. I have a really nice 427 but it will probably be too much for a comfortable street ride and that's what I want to do with this '76, DRIVE IT! Had too many Show Queens and just no FUN that way IMHO!
I'll post some pic's after I pick it up and pot to the project section as I go along!

You looking for a 427 for it! It's a '69 Corvette 512 block, LS7.

Put that 427 in there. The more stock it is the better. Your car will love the extra torque.

The 427 is just not a very street friendly motor, had it in a '69 Camaro back in the early 1990's, 12.5 compression, would suck up way to much gas, want to make the '76 S3 a street driveable enjoyable vehicle. I found a '454 recently rebuilt that might be a good candidate, wondering about a a trans? Maybe an early 4l80? Has a 2.73 open rear, thinking about 3.42 or 3.55's with an LSD?

With the 72 heads on it the compression really shouldn't be 12.5 unless you started with 13.5 or more pistons. The 69 heads would have been closed chamber heads and by 72 all big block heads were open chamber heads. I'd LOVE to have the money to put that motor in my car sir. Some one's going to get a sweet engine for sure.
