how much $ we talkin? if i could only get one gas motor for a daily driver it woul be a GMperformance parts- LSX454 with the fuel injection top end. this motor with a carburator in a 1969 camaro got over 20 mpg and it rated at over 600HP and built with a LSX block that will handle 2500Hp it has heads that are LS7 vette heads but modded 6 bolts per cyl. lots and lots its NICE!

Re: 427vs.454
depends, if you are wanting street ability, I would build a mild 454 for torque, then you can have a small or no stall and highway gears and itd be a great cruiser and still get on out and move.
427 will want more stall and more gear to conpensate for the rpms it needs with the short stroke.
