GMC Sprint - 1975? Or 1977?
Below is a GMC Sprint that was at this weekends auction. It was listed as a 1977 model and the VIN and build plate supports this. But the front clip is a 1975 style as well as having the upper seat belts being anchored directly to the B pillar with no retractor. Other things that tell me its a 75 is the frame is boxed which is correct for 73-75 El Caminos and Sprints. Other conflicting items are the climate controls show a "Max A/C" which is correct for 76 & 77 models but not for 75 down. The woodgrain on the gauge cluster bezel is also correct for 75 and not a 77. So this appears to be an anomaly of sorts where they may have thrown this together last minute in 77 with whatever parts were laying around or the VIN and build plate were changed??? Here's some pics and a video pointing out these discrepancies.

My guess is that the trim tag and vin have been replaced. The trim tag says 19U and 19L. I don’t see any traces of black on the inner fender or door jams. Blue would not have been a common interior color on a black car. It obviously was a vinyl top car, but there is no trim code for the top
