73 Chevelle Fenders Vs 74-77 Fenders Empty 73 Chevelle Fenders Vs 74-77 Fenders

After picking up a storage unit full of parts today I noticed that fenders on a 73 have an extra brace on the inside where the wheel well attaches. Below are pics for reference. I believe 73 Chevelles, Malibus, El Caminos, etc. came with plastic wheel wells??? Anyone know if these are interchangeable between years?

Memory serves me right one of my Fenders has that brace I remember taking a pic a few months back (maybe before we moved even)

FWIW, My passenger fender is actually a 74 -- couldn't get a decent 73 at the time. I don't recall any issues with the wheel well, but it did need some 'massaging' to get it to line up at the front.

I've noticed that brace difference as well. If I remember correctly, the 73 plastic wells have no issues fitting 74-77 fenders.

Thanks for the feedback Joe. Do you think that there would be a fitment issue with the steel wells on a 73 fender?

I would say no issues. I just looked at my car and I have one 74 -77 fender on it with plastic well. I think your good to go.
