I know the topic of where is everyone at on this forum has been brought up several times in the past year or so. I am guilty of checking in often as a visitor. Lately I have noticed that the visitor numbers are very high. The record online was broken just a couple weeks ago. My question is, are most of the visitor actually visitors or just members not logging in. If you are visiting, please sign up and join the conversation.

Me too. I get logged out on occasion, somehow, and unless I have my user id and password handy it is a bit troublesome to get logged back in.

X3. It's been auto-logging me out more frequently as of late -- maybe a half dozen visits and I have to log in again. Easier to simply lurk until a topic comes up that I feel I can contribute to.

Limey, it would be helpful if it maintained the login -- there should be some setting in the app for it to not drop its cookie so frequently. Then lurkers would actually be just that. Smile

FWIW, I'm going to guess it's the _gid cookie. Mine shows it was created on 3/22 and expires on 3/24 at 3:34pm -- so I expect by the end of the day tomorrow I'l have to log in again.

Sorry, didn't mean 'phone app' per se -- just using it as the shortened form of what it always was: ''application". I was in fact referring to the control application that Limey uses to administer the forum. He will have access to things we do not, and may/should have control over things like how long until the user's login gets dropped.
