Re: 76 El Camino
California car purchased from a Vette collector in Kentucky who did a panel off repaint in 2016. has 30,000 orig miles. Interior is 80% original with only headliner carpet and lower door panels replaced. Minor mechanical work, replaced some gaskets a few relays and a door lock solenoid. I drive her on a regular basis. While I've been building my 81 Z28 pro touring ride. Turns heads everywhere I take her. I love the so called forgotten generation. Always loved this body style, and the quad headlights, my first new car was a 76 Malibu purchased in early 76. The color and white swivel bucket interior sold me.

I've been trying to keep her as original as possible. Looks like a twin less the bench seat. The bucket seat interior was what sold me. These two lime green Camino's are true survivors.
My Camaro on the other hand, well about the only thing that's original is the body. small block, forged bottom end full roller motor, all aluminum top end 440 FWHP, TH 400 Heidts 4 link with coil overs Strange 9" Pro iron third member 3.70 gear. Detroit Speed control arms and coil overs, Wilwood all around tied subframe 4 pt roll bar corvette seats. labor of love on both of them. In th making for 11 years. Keeps me busy.

Re: 76 El Camino
Yeah, I wish I would have kept that green Camino. But it needed lots of money and time which I had neither back them since I had 2 small children that liked to eat. I did finally find another 76 with most of the same options except it was a swivel bucket car like yours. I restored it back in 2007. Love to see some pics of your Camaro.

Re: 76 El Camino
The blue is spectacular, love the S-3 nose, it just really belongs on the El Camino's. The white face gauges look great too. You really did a terrific job!
Had the same problem a mortgage two kids too. Sold my 79 Z28 in 2000 to a friends son for those reasons. I was the original owner. Now I'm in my mid 60's and am able to save for the projects. Ive been build the Z for the past 11 years. Do all the work myself in small chunks so I can work and drive her. Back in the day these care were abundant, who knew. My 1st car in 74 was a 72 Challenger with 340, and a 69 Cuda. Moved to Chevrolet in 77 with a Malibu & 79 with a Z28.Then life took over and it was work trucks.

Whoa! Your Camaro is amazing! You've done pretty much everything I'm working towards for my Laguna. Hope to get there in the near future. Posting those pics is a motivator for sure! Are the wheels 17's? What part of the country are you located?

Yes 17's with Nitto's. It takes time to get there, so don't get discouraged. You'll get there, your's looks great already! I'm in Illinois.

Those wheels are perfect for that car. My 1st restoration was in the works off and on for almost 17 years before it was finished. So I was forced to learn some patience lol. Wish your were closer so I could check out your Camino.
