Window roller differences ?? Empty Window roller differences ??

My chevelle has the normal "roller" on the center stud of the door glass.  I had another piece of glass that had a different center roller looking thing.  Anyone run into this?  Applications where it was used??  Thanks

Joe, all the windows I've pulled out have had the roller with the "shoulders" only on the vertical window channel. But they have all been 74-77 vehicles so 73 may be different???

I believe your correct. All my 73 glass has only the roller. I have some 74 or 75 glass and it has the shoulders. Any idea if its a different track? Or can the shoulder one be used on a 73?

Not really sure on that. I would try sliding the shoulder roller down in the vertical track (#6 in the pic) and see if it moves freely all the way down. If it doesn't fit, I can send you a track from a 74-77 door if that would help. Here's some pics from my 75 Fisher Body Manual that shows the exploded diagram but it doesn't detail the roller.

I was just looking at the same pics in my fisher manual. LOL. I appreciate the offer on the track but I'll be staying with mine. Im waiting for my Dorman roller to come in so I can see if it matches. My roller is ok, but since I have it apart I'd like a new roller.

Okay, let us know how the Dorman part works out. I'll look the tracks and rollers I have later this week just out of curiosity's sake.
