Can anyone please tell me what this is? It came off the dash next to the glovebox for my 77 Cutlass. It has delco stamped on it.

Looks like an old amplifier.

That's exactly what it is. The high-end optional factory stereo radios installed on some "A" bodies had this amplifier mounted behind the glove box. My Monte's factory Delco AM/FM/8-track has it. I don't see them too often when pulling stereos out of cars.

I pulled that out of mine when I did the interior a year or so ago. I had to laugh at it...

Yep...that was the early age of high technology car stereos and, of course, the introduction of recorded music by way of the 8-track! Ha! I researched the price that it cost to add the AM/FM/8-track to my car and it showed a whopping $324 in '77!

Think the most interesting car radio option I've come across is the factory Reverborator found on '60's cars that supposedly made AM radios sound stereophonic. And, let us not forget the FM convertor upgrade for our AM radios.

That's awesome to hear there of some Reverbs out there being used. I have never heard one in action. I've got one on the shelf I pulled from a '70 Galaxie. Have had it for over a year and still have not gotten around to testing it.
