Swapping 75 Monte Carlo Seats into a 77 Malibu?
Have a friend who came across a black bench & rear seat set up out of a 75 Monte and am looking to have him grab them for me & maybe swap them into my Malibu.
I'm assuming the fitment to the frame is the same between the two Chevy's for seat belt bolts, seat bracket attachment, etc...but wanted to verify if someone knows this for sure. Also was curious if the notchback vs fastback styles would have any affect on the layout of the panel that divides the passenger compartment from the trunk & if that would affect fitment (I know the package trays are much different & the big concern is the tabs for the top half of the rear lining up w/ the Malibu's rear seat belt holes). My friend refuses to get a computer & lives in the sticks with his guns & rottweilers...LOL. I don't want to waste 2 hours driving, a case of Guinness & dog slobber unless the swap will work.
Thanks!

Thanks Chris...I thought as much as the two models share many items but better safe than sorry. I hate making mistakes that cost money & affect the budget.

If you are referring to the rear shelf I'm not sure if those are the same. Didn't the monte have a different rear window?

That's the package tray, yes much smaller than the Malibu. I was talkiing about the section that the upper & lower rear seat sits on. This section & the one that connects to the tray just above in this pic.
