Does anyone have a cure for loose heads on our sport mirrors. They rattle and I am just not sure IF you can fix them, or do you have to replace them?

You can take them apart after you Pull from Door, and Put either a bigger bolt with washer Like I had to with mine, or Just maybe get lucky and tighten up with adding a washer to existing bolts, Def have to pull from from door to do

Just to be clear, I am talking about the head(cup) being loose from the pedastel that it mounts on. Not the mirror unit being loose on the door. Is there a bolt that holds them together behind the glass, or are they press- fit or something?

Looks like you could just tighten the screws after removing it from the door.

While we are on the subject, does anyone know if the base of a sport mirror and the the base of the chrome adjustable mirror are the same for 74 Chevelles? Or will they at least mount up with no drilling?

the mirror parts are not interchangeable.

Yes, those two screws are what I wanted to know about. I may use some locktite on them before reassembly to make sure they dont get loose again. Thanks guys!
