Well the rust bucket Laguna with the engine just went to my buddies shop to have the engine and trans removed. Later today I'll trailer the engineless 74 Chevelle down to the same shop to have the transplant completed. The drive this morning was very interesting. the car fired right up, but there was piles of rust everywhere. Driving down the road with safety glasses on because of rust falling from the windshield edge. Then I realised that in sitting for almost 10 years, the shocks were completely shot. It felt like i was driving with loose lugs or bent wheels all the way around. A very good thing the shop is just a couple miles away and I never had to go over 20 miles an hour. My wife was following me and she said I left a trail of rust as I drove down there. Last night I went out and put the tail lights back in. I had already removed them when I took out the rear sail piece.
Tomorrow I have to go to Spokane for a few days. transplant should be done by the time I get back. This weekend will be the 48 hour strip fest on the rusted hulk.
I'll get project pics up a little later.

Wow, this rusty Laguna is coming apart, but it is a beast...rust everywhere. I've had to get out the grinder a couple times. So far the rear panel, the tail lights, the grill, the seats, the opera windows, the dash face are all out.
Still working on getting out the gauge pack, the center console and the nose. the windows were easier then I thought (my 19 year old daughter got them out), the mirrors are frustrating and all the rust made getting the seats a real bear.

The more we remove, the more rust we find. Under bothe front seats the floor is gone. Tools keep falling through the floor. the back windows came out super easy! Any tricks to getting the trim off?
Still working on the nose and center console. Screws are so bad in the shifter plate that I may have to break the plactic to get at the bolts underneath.
