Re: 73 chevelle guys
Cant understand why someone from the company that makes them would not come on here or SOMEWHERE and announce these parts are available.

That would make a lot of sense, and I would certainly try it in their shoes. Â That said, a lot of forums frown on companies joining to hawk their stuff. Â The NMCOA one was like that. Â Don't know what the rules are here about that sort of thing.
I personally would welcome some advertisers for things for our cars, since it gets harder every day to find parts, and still not a lot of aftermarket support. Â I might be weird this way, but I buy car mags now specifically to look at the adverts to see what kind of new things are being produced that I might make use of. Â I don't need to read the 75th rehash on how to degree your cam or paint a car ultra cheap.

They come out with stuff then you have to search around to find it. I cant understand why a forum would not want a part supplier to make notice of a new product specifically for a model the forum caters too.

Re: 73 chevelle guys
I agree, especially when the forum is for cars that have so little support in the first place. If I had to guess, it's probably that the forum admins worry the place will get overrun with ads for Viagra.

Still waiting for parts I sent email yesterday asking when they will be here? car is in storage but still want them. I have 6 tail lights here and one has good gasket to compare them to.

Re: 73 chevelle guys
OK here we go, the gasket on the right with chrome trim ring missing is the new gasket from Metro molded parts. The other 3 gaskets in photos are originals that were on this spare set of lights I have here.

Gaskets them self's front and back

Overall they look like a good fit and are way softer the the old hard stock ones. I will not get them installed untill spring as car is in storage.

Better than me I have 4-5 sets of lenses none in prefect shape and most gaskets are so hard and dried out. I ended up using strip caulk strips and filling in leaks with that and you can not tell but its not a perfect fix. My pass side started leaking after washing car last fall. Its just s trickle but that's still water running down into trunk area.

Re: 73 chevelle guys
Those look real good. I made a set back in the 80's with some leftover trunk weatherstrip and weatherstrip adhesive. Worked out great and they're still in my car.
