73 Build
I don't know if you guys have seen this before, but it's a link to the TeamChevelle site in the restoration section.
http://www.chevelles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=326103
It's a great story with a great build and some good pics. including the kid's inspiration-
74Malibu383s car.
I may have posted it before, but if i did, it was a while back and it's been updated recently.

Re: 73 Build
I recall seeing it, but hell it might have been on TC or CT. Who knows?
It definitely turned out to be a clean ride. Thanks for the update.

Re: 73 Build
I posted it over at CT, might have posted it here as well.
I think what I like best is the color he used. I'm pretty sure that's the original, I ain't crazy about th color itself, but I think its' cool to see one restored to original, and I think it's cool that he's getting that much attention and positive remarks about a 73.
.
Shows that he attitudes are changing about the G3 cars.

Re: 73 Build
Definitely. I remember ten years ago I was getting comments like "That ain't a real Chevelle" and "Why waste the time?" Now I have guys drooling over how clean my current one is & telling me about their fond memories of growing up with these cars. The 73's have really been a gateway for all G3's getting noticed IMHO. Parts are now readily available & a lot of people have started jumping on the bandwagon including Holley with their Wagon build, PHR with their Laguna, & Musclecar TV with their Buick. One can safely assume we've officially made it.

a-men. but i think the lagunas were the reason g3s are getting noticed. who doesnt love the laguna? ive heard a lot of bad things about the 73 grille by watching my name is earl with some of my friends and family lol.

Re: 73 Build
Something I noted, theres no shocks on the rear bumper of that car. Are all '73s that way? And, can I do that to my '74?
That truned out to be a very nice car.

Re: 73 Build
I disagree. A Laguna hasn't ever been associated with the Muscle Car era & therefore most people will not immediately recognize what you are talking about. OTOH, 73 is still pre-smog & there was still some performance being churned out that year. When you hear SS, 442, GS, or GTO your mind automatically thinks of performance & the general public has started really appreciating them now that the decent pre-73's have become so unobtainable to the average guy. Remember that 73 was not only the last year for the Chevelle SS, but also the REAL GTO (not just a name slapped on an X Body). The H/O 442's & GS's would disappear after 75 as would most big blocks.

I wish mine was still here so I could tell you the answer. I can tell you that the 73 fronts are set up completely different than a 76 & requires everything from the shocks forward to swap over. Not sure what your bumper shocks look like. Someone send me a pic of the 74 set up & I can tell you.
