Got the vette wheels on
I think the whole car will look better once I get the rear end down and remove the white roof and side moldings. Only other things I want to do as far as aesthetics are tuck the bumpers a little, remove the front emblem from the header, remove the wheel opening moldings and paint the rest of the chrome silver. In the pictures the centers look dull, that must be a shadow, I did a quick polish on them after I stripped the black paint off the centers. After all that then it will be time for some go fast stuff.

I think it looks great just the way it is. Why would you paint the chrome silver?

I want to go for a stock car kind of look with this car. Drop down, fat tires and so forth. I don't know. I don't want to ruin it but I think stock car when I see these cars. I've seen some killer cars done up pro-touring style but I think I want to go the stock car route.

Re: Got the vette wheels on
I'm with Joe on this one. The car looks great like it is. If you want to do the stock car thing (which I do like) start with something in a lesser condition and do it. Don't start with a good looking car and go that route. Just my opinion.

Re: Got the vette wheels on
I've never seen a stock car with rocker panel trim. You could potentially sell those pieces for enough money to keep your budget in the black for a while longer with the other mods.
If you mean to paint the bumpers, I suggest that you find some other less than perfect ones to paint and keep the ones on your car now in a safe place.

I wouldn't take that rocker trim off then you will have to get different Wheel well trim also for they are different (shorter) for rocker trim and NON rocker trim

Re: Got the vette wheels on
It would all come off. The stuff I'd do in silver would be tje trim around the front and rear windows, the drip rails, headlight bezels and grille. It's a ways off though. Got a bunch more other things to do first.

I love the car like it is. Those wheels are a nice statement. The stance is perfect for these cars. All that said she'll look good when you're done too. The stock car look is very cool on these cars. All I can really say about it is, as you tweak things to be what you want you enjoy the car more and more. Go for it !!

Count me as another one who likes your car the way it looks now! Love the Corvette wheels on it.

I feel some pain after hearing that you want to do all those things to a beautiful car. Not all that many of those that are as nice as that one...

Re: Got the vette wheels on
Take some comfort in knowing it photographs well. It has issues under that roof in the form of some bubbling. The clear on the trunk is lifting and the hood has some spots. The car was fixed up about 6 years ago but was not loved after that. There are nicer ones out there, this one is not special.
