missing retainer
Hi - I was under my dash today tidying up some hanging wires and noticed that my left hand air duct was disconnected. I tried to reconnect but the cable retainer is missing. Can't find a p/n or hardly any info on this piece?? Just checking to see if it is available or can be fabed. And where does it attach? Thanks, Ross

Re: missing retainer
If you are talking about the round flexible duct hose I don't believe I've ever seen one on any of the vehicles I've owned over the years. My Laguna's ducts appeared to be secured with some type of contact cement. Anyone else out there seen any type of retainer on these?

Re: missing retainer
not a duct hose - this is the cable that is held by a retainer and the end of it operates the air flapper under the dash. The pull/push lever is just under the steering column beside the center duct controller.

Re: missing retainer
My bad. I'm assuming this is a non-A/C car? If so, I have an all original 77 Malibu non-A/C that I can check tomorrow and take pics for you.

Re: missing retainer
Okay, here are the pics I took earlier today. I think the end of the cable is bent at a 90 degree angle in 2 places that fits through an eyelet to engage the cable. I did not see a retainer of any sort. The end of your cable might be broken? Hope this helps.

Re: missing retainer
G3 - great pics - thanx! That last pic looks different than mine? My left vent cable attaches directly to the bottom of the flapper. This one shown looks like it attaches to a lever and is held by a clip of some sort?? They must have changed the design over the tears. Thx
