Re: GMPP 454 HO
Forged internals are stronger & more durable from what I understand.
Call or wright to the place in Wisconsin- maybe they can compare the other you're looking at. Many crate engine manufacturers (assembler's really) buy parts in quantity & pump out engines like Thanksgiving Turkey's but I think these guys machine many of their own cranks & other parts in house.

As for the GM crate engines, they have a ptretty good warrenty, but you have to find out who has to install it to get the warrenty. JB

Would be great though, cost a few bucks too but how much are you really going for anyway? They all aren't cheap. Shafiroff, builds them like that as a crate motor too. http://www.shafiroff.com/

Well, I think its kind of overkill for me when we pass the 500 cid limit hehe. My budget would be around $10.000 for everything to get the car running, including the import fee for shipping parts to Norway (25% of total amount).
So that Shafiroff engine is out of range
check it out and look for the 555 bb chevy says it has a 3 yr. warranty, has a bunch of nice parts in it and it's complete !
while your there check out all the other engines as well
