New chassis for my 73
Finally after a long wait I picked up my new chassis for my 73 yesterday. Have the old one ready to pull and then roll this one in. Lots of winter work. Fabbing headers will be on the big item list. Well built and I’m happy with it. Fuel tank shipped out today headed my way. Was another Pontiac in the shop getting a frame/ls swap as well.

Agree.
Chassis looks nice but it is never gonna hook on those wheels.

Making some progress. Body is swapped but making room for gear vendor next. Sitting prob 4” off frame at the moment to make some clearance.

Dude! Where do you live? I want to come help you. G3 chevy and myself did a complete chassis swap on my Laguna without a lift in a barn. I would love to do it with a lift.

What a way to put your lift to work! We need to try that with mine this summer!

Re: New chassis for my 73
Thanks. My lady swap was with multiple jacks and laying on the floor. Got to thinking how can I make it better and wound up with this idea. Works great to fit and then raise back up to change and modify. Since a new chassis it needs some finessing on a few things. I’m in central Ky. Working on header mockup now as well. Nobody makes anything close.

That's how I did mine -
4x6's, cement blocks and floor jacks.
Now that I think about it - that was 25 years ago!

Re: New chassis for my 73
Finally got the header design all fabbed up and shipped off. Thrashing before I went to Japan for a few weeks. Fit them multiple times and kept making small adjustments to make it fit. 2 1/4 primary dumped to 4” collectors. Driver side got really complex with the rack/pinion steering plus chassis braces. Had to cut out most all of the floor pan hump to fit the gear vendor. Next is fab mount bushings to get height set and even for all mount spots. Back at it in another 2 weeks when I get back.
