561/2 same as the one that came with the car the only differences i noticed so far are the 5on 5 lug pattern and the speed sensor for the abs brakes

Re: new rear end
What ring and pinion does a Caprice use?
Is the pinion yoke the same as an A-body?
Thanks -

Re: new rear end
According to both Autozone & Rock Auto, they have the same U-joint. I would have just assumed they were the same, but then again the Caprice/Impala SS 8.5 rear should be a 30 spline vs ours having only 28. I want to say the change from 28 - 30 happened in 1989. Someone verify that for me though.

Re: new rear end
i just bought the rear control arm bushings and they told me that the bushings are the same from i think 68 through 88 not exact on beggining year but positive about the 88 so i think 1989 is when the rearend changed some
