1975 Tailights
Can anybody tell me if 75 malibu tailights will interchange with a 77. I like the look of the 75 lights more than the 77. Next question anybody have any?

Re: 1975 Tailights
Yes and no. Yes they will fit, but you need a 75 trunk lid to make it look right.

Then again, you could do this:

1975 Tails and will require the tail panel, and trunk lid from 75 as well as the corner pieces from 75

Re: 1975 Tailights
I thought 75-77 all had the same trunk lid and panel extensions. it was in the filler panel and the actual taillight mounts that were different?
76 lights are bolt-in and do away with the fussy bars in the lenses. I know I'm on the lookout for a set of 76 lights for my 77.

Re: 1975 Tailights
no trunk lid has a diff angle than 76 - 77 would look never shut if you use it

Re: 1975 Tailights
76 lenses are 100x cooler than 77. Both trump the 75 style IMHO.
Here's some pics of 75 vs 76-77 corner pieces & what happens when you have a 75 trunk on a 76-77 car. (75 is black, 76-77 is maroon on the comparisons)

It would work, but you can see how the 75 trunk is at a different (very slight) angle. You would most certainly need to do something with the tail panel though. Looks like the 75 needs a different type of support to hold the tail lights in.

Re: 1975 Tailights
Yeah, I picked up a tailpanel for my 76 from a 75... ( I was a sucker for the little bowties), Extensive modification to the trunk section behind the tailights, none of the holes line up.
Soooo, that means I do have one available if anyone is interested.
